We’ve been busy this summer! Here’s what’s new at Sliderule

New Features:

• Shadow Rules: Allows you to launch new rules to evaluate their performance, without affecting the outputs of your Workflow in Production. Detailed guide here

• In-line Testing for Decision Tables & Matrix Rules: These complex rule types have a new look. You can select the Test tab from the Editor view, and pick from a variety of tests to help confirm your rules are working properly. Detailed guide here.

• New String Functions: We’re always adding to our library of in-line functions, and this month we’ve added some helpful new functions for modifying strings: LENGTH, SEARCH, REPLACE, EXTRACT

Upgrades:

• Decision Tables: you can now easily duplicate rows, and copy/paste rows into other locations. Makes building complex decision tables way easier!

• Testing Panel for Formula Rules (inside Transform Blocks): Formula rules now have a testing panel, so you can try out inline formulas, and make sure they’re working as you’d expect

• Step-in Debugging on Workflow Testing Modal: When testing your Workflows you can now hover over a rule in the execution table, and get a direct link to open the rule in a new tab for easier debugging

Performance:

• New caching layer and enhancements to access control logic should speed up teams with >100 decision workflows in production

• We’ve also shifted the backend architecture to Kubernetes for faster scaling / deployability
